At the first round of the 2012 season Warren Evans had the first hole in one in a Rivers Club game. On the 15th Hole of the Sefton course Warren took out his trusty 8 iron and hit a near perfect shot towards the green. The ball sailed majestically through the sky to hit the left hand edge of the green it then turned magically straight towards the flag. His playing partners gasped in awe as the ball disappeared from view. Had it gone in the hole or over the back of the green. As they walked to the green Warren’s ball was not in view. There was a pile of leaves at the back of the green. Had it gone in there?
No!...... Tony, motioned Warren to stay back while he looked in the hole. Warren did not stay back but followed him to the flag. Gasp!!!!! there was a ball with a “W” on it in the hole.
An thunderous cry of “YEEEEEESSS!!!!” echoed around the course startling the magpies from the trees. Warren lifted the prized ball from the hole and kissed his precious (the golf ball). Handshakes and congratulations were exchanged with Denis, Marcus and Tony.
An ordinary (being nice here) round of golf had miraculously turned into the best game ever.
Congratulations Warren Evans you have joined an elite club. I am jealous.
